I have been running my SIII on Omega Rom ( ICS) for sometime and now it was time to update it to Jelly bean. I could either choose a nightly build of Hugely popular Cyanogen mod or upgrade to Stable Omega Jelly bean. I decide to download Stable release of Omega 4.1.2 for SIII. I have been overall happy with the omega ROM, it’s fast and it gives me better battery life.
Since mine was already rooted it was going to be easy to flash it. I took a backup with CWM, so I could go back, if anything went wrong. . Offcouse I synced the contacts and calender with Google so I could get them back after update.
Installation went smoothly. All the apps and settings were intact. After sync all the contacts came back too.

Silent Cam
Excellent battery Life
Blocking Mode ( New)
What’s bad
Screen is still dim in the day light .
Email app is still unstable.
I am waiting for a stable release of Cyanogen Mod for SIII. I tried CM9 and that’s blazing fast, can’t wait to see how much better CM10 would be. For Now, I think Omega is one of the best aftermarket ROMs for SIII.
