Now adding a new ipkg to your Qnap box is even easier with the new 3.8 firmware. I updated my firmware and got a nice surprise to see that they included the ipkg-web on it, so you get a nice web interface to ipkg.
You will have to enable optware and then click on the weblink in QPKG center.
Use your admin user name and password that you use on Qnap box, to get access to the front end of optware
You can search, install , update and delete the ipkg using this web front end. So convenient, it took me half a mintue to search for Exif ipkg and install , which is a great alternative to imagemagick when you wish to extract exif information from photos.
